Less of you

Less of you

During traveling and working for five years in Oregon I met an older man and we became friends.  He was 60 years of age. I remember his words at 60 "there is less of you."  At the time I got what he meant, but not fully.

We are all filled with worries and doubt...even those that we think do not have self-doubts, or have nothing to worry about...they too are filled with worries and doubts.
There are fleeting moments in our lives when everything seems to be going just right and there is a feeling within us (maybe it is just hope) that life will continue to be upbeat and worry-free.
That feeling never lasts...and we strive to get back to that place where we just know that everything will work out all right and there will be nothing to really worry about
I believe the only way to get to that place is to have a faith and trust in a higher power or being. A feeling that no matter what our circumstances are, there is a higher purpose and we are just where we are supposed to be.
When I am really sad and down with worries and self-doubts, I pray to be given the peace that passes understanding...a knowing deep within that there is a reason for all the things that don't seem to be going right.and I have to understand why...and a deep knowing that yes, it too will pass. Whenever I pray for this, a wonderful peace and feeling of well-being always comes over me. And in that moment I forget all my worries and I feel cared for and loved. There is a feeling within me everything will be all right. The feeling doesn't aways last a long time, but it is always there when I earnestly ask for it.

Hi Peggy,
interesting how you say all are filled with worries and doubts. We all have wondered about this.

Also interesting that you observe that we ' strive to get back to that place where we just know that everything will work out all right and there will be nothing to really worry about."

Your words come from your insides and I'll let them speak for themselves.
