Failure

Life exists in time and time ends. With such a destiny even a
successful life disappoints. Life ends.

A well lived life, or a life not well lived, either will not last.
Total success should be ongoing, forever. We are not. So we all
fail. This should humble us and lead us to deeper questions.

An example is the love for a woman. Our love for her is true, but is
not able to preserve her or cushion her from her end. We must seek higher
ground for that. The love for a woman can divert us from this. We
still eventually have to look to where we are going. That is
important. We can bring a partner along, but that partner can't replace
the direction. For a time it might be a good thing, in that we are forced
to care for another, become giving rather than being self-centered. This
is a step in the right direction. But the love for a woman isn't the
direction. All it can do is point towards the direction.

Hi Steve,

Some people think that money makes the world go round but I believe that love and healthy relationships make the world go round… Having money, love and good health are all so transitory, so impermanent… So hard to find true, satisfying mutual love.. people are almost always in such different places emotionally, and the older we become the more baggage we seem to accumulate.. the more fears.. the more blocks… If we can just live in the present without expectations, life would be less complicated. I'm trying to learn how to do this with my Shambhala meditation practice but it takes a lot of work.

What are your thoughts on love?

Hi Bev,

true about love being the heartbeat...true about its transitory nature. The good thing about love is it can grow and transform into something bigger......you can lose but than get.....it can transform into something more permanent. Patience and understanding are tied in somehow.

Also nice when love, here on earth, lasts. When it imitates an eternal quality. Have an essay and story I mentioned which I can't find about long term love. Mentioned it before, was good stuff. It will turn up.

Good to be in the present, yes, but find can't lead with that in life. Reasonable expectations are part of time. A red light comes on, you expect no cars to come. Nothing wrong with that expectation. Just as long as its placed in a larger realm including mystery and forces beyond our parameters.

Have heard wisdoms on love, which are good, but would not be coming now from my own revelations. Will wait on that for now.
