Drag
Thought of this a few days ago so hope I can recall it accurately. One can divide the world into the material and the invisible. In the invisible realm lies the spirit and other dimensions. The physical is what's around us and time. When our mind breaks through to the spiritual world, or timeless world, we obtain a new understanding. This is food for our insides, or soul, or still center. Or one can say it touches God, or is God given.
As we function in the material world with this new understnading we attempt to move forward and transform the material world around us to conform to this new realization. Since it is matter and energy it can take the new form for just so long and then falls short. It weighs us down and becomes a drag. We are literally 'dragged' down. For a time the new physical forms have a sparkle but eventaully they turn into dead weight, or drag as said.
Some drag becomes extinct. The weight of the rest causes inertia and decay and friction within us so we are propelled to delve into the new realm or timeless zone for new understanding. Or, in spiritual terms, we empty ourselves of matter and receive what is from beyond, Once done, a new way of seeing is received and the matter around us starts to glitter and sparkle again for a time.
If we get too caught up in the material we become weighed down. If we just foucs on receiving from the invisible we lose functionality in this world. A back and forth relationship or dance has to exist between the two.
